Came home and was married to Rhea (Thornton) August 29, 1970. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2020. “He’s shown us how to work and have fun. He’s the best Dad and Grandpa!” Love, Rhea, Kristi and Carrie.

Dear General Fullhart,

It gives me great pride to inform you of an act of extreme kindness and empathy expressed by members of the cadets in the form of a fundraising event held, on campus, with the objective of providing a Christmas Holiday Turkey for every “at risk and often overlooked” veteran enrolled in the Vittles for Vets food assistance program.

The month of August featured Vietnam Veteran Jimmy Sims with his 1970 Chevelle SS with a 396 Big Block and Turbo 400 transmission. The month of August was sponsored by Old Town Printing who also printed our calendars this year.

Vietnam Veteran, Butch Buford is the featured Veteran in the VfV Hot Rod Calendar for April. He has a 1939 Ford Convertible Coupe with a 351 Windsor and Tremec 5 speed transmission. Butch served in the Army (E5) from 1962-65 . Joel Humphreys with NextHome New River Valley is this month’s sponsor.

Thanks to the efforts of volunteer Alex Barker, Vittles for Vets was invited to speak to the congregation of the Pulaski Church of God by Pastor Donald Jones on Sunday, November 15, as a way of honoring veterans for Veteran’s Day. Alex detailed the Vittles mission perfectly after which Pastor Jones gave a passionate message expressing the responsibility we have, as freedom loving citizens of this great country, to pay tribute and express gratitude to our veterans.
