My Dad served aboard the battleship USS Missouri during World War II which was engaged in two major battles, Iwo Jima and Okinawa where the Missouri was struck by a “Kamikaze” plane. He was on board the USS Missouri to witness the surrender of the Japanese Empire to General Douglas MacArthur. The document pictured recognizes his presence.
