Vittles for Vets would like to express our sincere gratitude to Nick McNeil for donating the use of the Little River Bluegrass Barn to Vittles for Vets for the “Bluegrass Concert” fundraising event, benefiting our veteran neighbors suffering food insecurity, for the 2nd year in a row. 

Also, a huge SHOUT OUT to Scott Patrick for organizing this event and his outstanding Bluegrass band, Lonesome Heart, for donating their time and energy, for the 2nd year, to assist our less fortunate veterans in Southwest VA.

Veteran’s Day Dinner

For the past several years, Vittles for Vets has been supported by student volunteers from the Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS) at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Blacksburg. This student-lead organization recognizes the unique position that osteopathic physicians hold within the US Armed Forces and the defense of our nation. Each year, a group of medical students, all members of SAMOPS and currently serving in the military, volunteer their time to pick up food from local food banks each month and deliver the

Bowling Spooktacular on Halloween Night

We had a great time at our Bowling Spooktacular on Halloween night, hosted by It’s Game Time At The Superbowl! We were visited by a pretty Princess, Spiderman, Evil Colonel Sanders and his chicken, Ghost Face & the Myers Twins, but we weren’t able to catch pics of the Jail Bird, Police Officer, the Smurfs or the Lorax running around! Vittles for Vets Thorn Spring Golf Tournament 7/15/23

Vittles for Vets hosted the 6th Annual Thorn Spring Golf Tournament at the Thorn Spring Golf and Event Center in Pulaski, VA on July 15th. 22 teams came out in support of our mission for a beautiful day of golf, with lunch before the tournament and raffles and live auction after.
